Episode 11; The Fake Sound Of Progress
Episode 11; The Fake Sound Of Progress
The September holidays are coming to an end. I wouldn't sound THAT sad but to a certain extent, I would miss waking up late in the morning. What I won't miss is spending too much time at home.
It has come to a point when a certain individual stays at home for a particularly long period of time, he/she will eventually begin to do something rather insignificant/boring. I can list a lot but I'm going to stick with one for now that has been annoying me & some:
Facebook.
It's not a bad medium for social interaction. In fact, it's quite the breakthrough compared to Friendster. The only thing that is irritating is the amount of time spent on it by certain boring people. Lately, a new wave of tagging-friends-on-collages-that-describes-multiple-different-characteristics has been introduced. & this has caused my e-mail inbox to get super full within a day or two via Facebook's user comments.
Once or twice, fine, it's pretty cute. But when it gets all clogged up and it becomes a trend, it just sucks. Much like during the 'skinny jeans era' and the now-revitalized 'Yo-yo era'. It has to stop.
With that off my chest, I can head on to a brighter note: Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Less than a week plus away before the much anticipated day of festivities, delicious food & money ( I shall emphasize on MONEY ). Aidilfitri is super awesome. With or without exams around the corner, it doesn't fail to bring up my mood and enjoy- even for a day only. What's there not to enjoy?
The basic ingredient of an awesome Aidilfitri:
1) An open house.
2) Family, close relatives are all there.
3) Delicious foods that doesn't seem to run out.
4) Lights everywhere, making the house look bright.
5) Kids playing games.
6) People chattering away.
7) More food.
8) Hari Raya songs ( lighten up the mood if No.5/6 doesn't work )
9) Takes place at night.
10) There's no school on the next day.
Lighten up yourselves. Examination period may be around the corner or just straight ahead but for a day only, enjoy the festivities of the best Muslim celebration ever. :D
