Have your parents ever warned you not to mix around with that particular kid? That boy your parents tell you to stay away from? And everything your parents don't want you to end up to be like?
I'm that guy.

True story. :D

Episode 6: Stop And Stare

Singapore is very small. The odds of meeting that particular stranger again might be slim. Then again, it depends on how you look at it; it sucks that you might never see that person again OR it sucks that you might see that person again someday. Well today isn't any different- Anwar just might see that person again someday.

Or in his case, those 3 minahs ( malay version of ah-lians ).

Guys, this is the story of how Mirun, Arief & I experienced 'The Minah'.

Firstly, what is a 'minah' you ask? Well, they're the equivalent of the ah-lians. The only difference is that they're malays. They hang out with the 'mats' ( equivalent to the ah-bengs ). They are very loud, talkative & very annoying. Plus, they curse & swear a lot.

Earlier today, Arief, Mirun & me decided to head to town to book tix for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We're watching it on Wednesday & I'll get to it when the day comes. Anwar didn't want to follow us as he had other plans with his mum. Long story short, his plan was cancelled & he followed us instead.

We reached Orchard and immediately booked the tix at Orchard's Cineleisure. Walked around for some time there & decided to head home. While walking to Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, THREE MINAHS STOPPED IN THEIR TRACKS & WALKED WITH US. Some might say this is awesome but come on, really? Minahs? Please.

Without reacting awkwardly, we just walked & had our conversations. One of the minahs- erm, we shall call her Minah Blue since she was wearing some blue shirt- suddenly took out her handphone and faked a phone call. Arief knew it was a fake phone call but he decided to just keep quiet. So Minah Blue suddenly said, "What's your MSN?" on the phone to her supposedly invisible-friend-caller-who-doesn't-exist-since-it's-a-fake-call loudly. Obvious signal that she wanted our MSN emails.

We ignored them and continued walking. Then, those 3 minahs walked passed us and stopped at a predestrian crossing. We thought it was over. But Minah Blue suddenly turned and smiled rather flirtishly at- wait for it- Anwar. *mind blasting action*

Yes, all these while, those 3 minahs were after Anwar. They crossed the road but we didn't. And those 3 minahs waited for him to cross. Another one of the minah ( she was tall, so we'll call her Minah Tall ) kept looking at Anwar & reporting back at Minah Blue. Minah Red ( I think you guys get the picture ) kept looking at him too. We crossed the road and walked passed them quickly. The walked pass us & started to walk slowly, stopped, turned around, walked pass us again and Minah Blue looked at Anwar, smiled and said, "Byeeeeeee."

Me, Mirun & Arief just experienced how minahs operate today. It wasn't the coolest thing but it was an eye-opener. Never in my life, I've seen up close a girl making the moves on a guy. And not only just A girl but THREE girls. God, Anwar IS the ladies' man. Gotta give him props for that.

Guys, 'The Minah' is not only a move, it requires tactics, patience & 2 wingman ( or in that case wingwoman, whatever ) to get it done. It may not be successful, but it's worth the shot. Do give your views and thoughts on the tagboard about this phenomenon. And if you guys/gals ( ever heard of lesbian minahs? ) ever experience this, note/mark on your calender that on that day, it's legendary and you have just experienced-

'The Minah'.
