Chapter 14; Goody, Like Two Shoes
Chapter 14; Goody, Like Two Shoes
So guys, yesterday's Maths Trail was awesome after all. And it's all because of this handphone.
Yes, this Nokia N95.
We planned to meet at Yishun MRT station at first but Chen and Mokthar headed to Vivo City straight. So I had to wait for Ibrahim and he was late. We met with the rest and ended up being one of the few last teams to arrive to register. Girlfriend was already there with her team.
Then we were given our first task and we had to head to The Dolphine Lagoon. We were already sweating. Haha. So on our first task we had to do some maths-planning time-table thingy. And we manage to accomplish that super fast despite coming to the venue late cause we headed the wrong way. And we manage to receive the clue to our next venue for our second task; Fort Siloso.
Now, for those who are familiar with Sentosa, there are 3 beaches- Siloso, Pahlawan and Tanjong Beach. Where we were was at Pahlawan and the next venue is at Siloso which is the opposite end of Sentosa. We decided to take the bus. What we didn't know, it would change our whole gameplan and luck.
We boarded the Sentosa bus which will take us to the different stops around the island. And we had to take the Red Line bus which will bring us to Siloso Beach. We boarded the bus and Mokthar stopped in his tracks near the seats. Chen, Ibrahim and me stopped too. That was when we found the 'life-altering' Nokia N95 handphone.
We decided to check its contents and everything, thinking it might belong to one of our schoolmates but it happened to belong to some foreign businessman. We contemplated on either giving to Mrs. Szetoh, the hot teacher in-charge of the Maths Trail or we could give it to our principal which may acknowledge our honesty and integrity during morning assembly or something.
We decided to keep it first.
So we reached the third stop at Imbiah Lookout. We found our third task venue and went on to do it. That was when the owner of the phone came and we gave back his phone. He called the phone and arranged meeting places for us to meet him but since we were constantly moving about due to the race, we just told him to call us when he reached.
Chen gave him back the handphone. The foreigner took out his wallet and gave Chen $50. Yes guys, 50-freaking-awesome-dollars! We splited it up to $12 plus each. Awesome, I know! Haha. After that, completed the third task and headed for the fourth and eventually finished the task. Head back to the end point to find out we're in the 7th place! Top 10! Haha.
We got plushie giraffes for our efforts. :)
Went to Vivo City to have lunch and walked around. Decided to catch a movie but it'll be late. Plus, loads of people were queueing for a movie. Screw you 'Saturday-movie-madness!' So we headed to the arcade where we played and burned our money. Hahaha. And watched some breakdance performances.
Left early and met up with the girlfriend. Walked around Daiso for God-knows-how-long with her PW mates and left. Decided to take a long bus home but not before stopping to have a quick dinner together. Heh. She bought herself an awesome $6 hoodie! Haha. Sent her home after that. God, I'm missing her already as I'm typing this blogpost. Haha.
So yesterday turned out well after all. It was, hmm, what's that word I dare say,
Legendary.
