Episode 15; There's No Place Like Home: Part 1
Episode 15; There's No Place Like Home: Part 1
OUTWARD BOUND SINGAPORE
DAY 1- INTRODUCTIONS
I really expected the day to be sunny & all but it drizzled.
dad sent me to school & was one of the first few there.
everyone came & we were sent to punggol jetty.
headed to Pulau Ubin via speedboats & were assembled in groups at campsite 1.
I was in Cheng Ho along with majority of my classmates & class 105 peeps.
was introduced to the OBS areas there & had some icebreakers,
you know, to break the ice.
haha.
then we had a kayaking session.
just the basics- paddling, drowning, more paddling, more drowning.
hahaha.
I was paired up with this step cute girl.
basket, she ordered me around like I'm some maid.
pfft.
after that, we had to pitch tents & have our field cooking before
ending the night sleeping in our mosquito infested tents.
DAY 2- GUYS, WHERE ARE WE?
one of my members, Chee Wee, made our group motto.
" Never the Process, Always the Result. "
which basically meant, don't care how we do it but we'll get it done.
& we applied to everything!
hahaha.
we packed our mini-bags & trekked to campsite 2.
it was a much civillized campsite with bunks & all.
did our High Obstacle there.
I'm telling you, I love that event!
climbed with Ibrahim to the top of this Inverted Tower.
woo!
after all that, trekked again to our final campsite which was by the sea.
& by then, my arms were aching like !#!$%#!
pitched tent & ate dinner by the sea.
pretty nice view- if only she was there with me.
had to do duty to take care of the kayaks there.
our duty time was at 2.15 to 3.00 in the morning!
not enough sleep at all.
hahah.
DAY 3- SEA EXPEDITION
woke up & immediately packed our stuffs & unpitched tents.
had a brief meeting about the sea expedition.
kayak-ed for 6.5 hours all around Pulau Ubin back to campsite 1.
I tell you, my head, hand & legs hurt after that.
reached at the campsite around 2.30pm.
was very very unexpectedly early.
so we had loads of time to cook, pitch tents & slack.
we pitched our tents near the beach.
it was so so cold & awesome.
DAY 4- RAFTERS UNITE!
by then it was Thursday & was the second last day of camp.
it was really slacking as there wasn't much to do.
PT-ied in the morning again & had cheerleading competition.
had this ' amazing race-cum-making money to buy stuffs to built a raft ' game.
Cheng Ho was teamed up with Amundsen & Armstrong.
we were overconfident & had too much time & cash after building our rafts.
hahaha.
we helped this group though who had trouble & donated some of our cash to them.
then, we had to raft to the speedboat to grab our flags.
raced with another group & we came from behind to win!
damn, we make a good team.
hahaha.
but it's all in the spirit of teamwork. (:
again, after that, pitched tent & this time had mass cooking!
Amundsen, Armstrong, Battuta & Cheng Ho cooked together.
it was an awesome night & we packed our store before leaving the next day.
DAY 5- FINALE
I swear I did wanted another day there when the last day arrived.
guessed I've bonded much with the team & everyone there.
anyways, we had our final PT together & had a final game
among ALL the groups.
the ultimate teamwork.
had our final goodbyes but not before heading to the souvenier store.
got some OBS polo tees & all.
left the island & reached mainland Singapore at 2.30pm.
waited for the others & went to Changi Village for dinner.
Nareyn, Irfan, Booney, Me, Amirun & Muzzie.
ate ate ate like nobody's business & had an awesome time together.
hahaha.
reached home at 9 plus & by then was totally shagged.
slept really fast in my bed with the aircon.
yes, I'm spoilt.
heh heh.
I missed her everyday at camp.
